The 16-acre Stonebridge development at Cleveland and Chestnut has confirmed that Wal-Mart will be constructing a 40,000 square foot Neighborhood Market and six-pump gas station on the property. Erica Jones, senior manager of communications for the retailer said that “construction should start this week” and that they are looking to open “probably the beginning of next year.” Jones said that Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market stores are primarily a “grocery store with a pharmacy and limited general merchandise items like paper goods and chemicals. It’s more of a typical grocery store.” The store will need around 95 full-time and part-time employees. “What we’re seeing,” she said, “is that customers’s shopping habits, their needs, are changing. And they’re really looking for a convenience shopping experience.”
